Everything you need to know about the cabin and surrounding area is here for you to read at your leisure. If there are any issues, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We are happy to welcome you to our little cabin in the woods! We ask that you treat it as you would your own home. We have done a number of renovations over the past year, and we are excited to keep improving! The majority of the homes in our community are permanent residents, so we ask that you refrain from late night dance parties on the patio. Please contact us with any questions you may have, but I hope we have provided you with all the necessary information below.
Thank you again and enjoy!
There is a frame on the kitchen table with the Wifi and Password, along with the QR code for this website.
The front door is equipped with a Yale Smart Lock. We will share a code with you prior to your arrival that will be active throughout your stay. There is a key in the back door that you can use to lock / unlock the door for use during your stay. Please do not remove that key or take it with you.
If you have any issues gaining access to the cabin, please call us and we can give you the code to our lock box.
Unfortunately we do not provide access to the garage. It will be under renovation shortly and transformed into a game room and bar!
Please feel free to sign into your Roku or streaming services on the living room or master televisions. If you do not log out, we will do so between all rentals so your information is not shared.
The pool is open daily (weather permitting), but only when a monitor is present. There are no lifeguards on duty, so please swim at your own risk.
If you are anything like us, you will have forgotten pool toys and towels - so we have provided them for you in the back room. Because we are a private HOA, please bring the laminated green card located on the hall tree above the pool towels and bag. We only get one green card per season, so we please ask that you keep it safe and return it to the hall tree after each use.
You may be asked you to sign-in with the pool monitor. If so, please write "Walker-Guest".
Although the bears won't bother you, they are extremely interested in our garbage cans! You will see two garbage cans along the garage (one for recycling and one for waste). If you need to empty the garbage during your stay, please ensure you reattach the bungee cord to the outside cans to keep the animals and critters out.
Before you check out, we do ask you take out any kitchen garbage and/or food waste so it does not stay in the house. Thank you!
Unfortunately with our old cabin, smart technology was not an option. That means that each room operates on its own baseboard heat. Please feel free to set the thermostats on whatever temperature you feel comfortable with. We simply ask that you turn the heat down to 55 or 'Low' on each baseboard when you check out.
There are window AC units in the back bedroom downstairs, the queen room, and the king bedroom upstairs. However, the cabin tends to stay cool in the summer and the evenings can get quite chilly.
Upon leaving, please turn off all AC units and please close the windows in case it rains before the cleaners arrive.
We have two grills available for use. Depending on your preference, you can find a propane and charcoal grill under/near the gazebo. All of your grilling needs (e.g., coal or tanks) can be found at Dutch's market or True Value at the bottom of the hill.
Please dump the charcoal into the fire pit after use and re-cover the grill. If you use the gas grill, please ensure to turn off the propane tank.
There is a small stack of firewood out by the fire pit next to the house. We ask that you keep the fire under control as the tree line is not too far away. If it is very dry and has not rained, please refrain from using the fire pit.
We have 3 kids and do A LOT of laundry! Please feel free to use the washer and dryer as needed. We have provided a few tide pods and dryer sheets for your convenience.
For all your grocery needs, Dutch's Market at the bottom of Brink Hill road should have everything you need. There is also a beer and wine shop inside.
However, there aren't any liquor stores in the immediate vicinity. The three closest (Fine Wine & Good Spirits) are in Hawley, Cresco, and Covington.
The kitchen is fully stocked with spices and basics for cooking. We also don't know how to survive without coffee, so please enjoy the coffee machines.
Fire extinguishers can be found in the kitchen and in the downstairs closet in the back room. There you will also find a first aid kit, vacuum, and highchair if needed.
Please help yourself to the games!
